  • Is Wheelchair Taxi Needed?

Firstly we need to understand why we need to make a Car/Van wheelchair Accessible

The need arises when any of our family, relatives or friend is a wheelchair bound person. What we need to keep in mind is the headroom of the car as entry/exit is critical and it might be inconvenient for the person on wheelchair while getting in and out of the car/van. Having said that a very cost effective way is equipping your car with a pull out ramp. Using a pull out ramp, the person on wheelchair is steered up the incline by another person assisting in accessing the car. A motorized wheelchair can also be handy here to enter the car .

One of the other means of making a car accessible is installing a hydraulic lift, this is a better alternative than the ramp but slightly heavier in your pocket. A lot of wheelchair companies use both Ramps & Hydraulic lifts in India. One company that closely works with people in a wheelchair is myUDAAN, you can look up their website https://myudaanstore.com

Another option is to install a sideways wheelchair elevator, the limitation here is you would need a car with large side sliding doors. you always have the alternative of hiring wheelchair taxis.

A most important point to note here is there is no one size fits all, depending upon the person for whom the car is being made accessible, the modification might differ. But in the end, nothing is more important than making life accessible and providing dignity and freedom to our loved ones in a wheelchair.

  • Don’t Help a Disabled Person

One fine gentleman posted a question?

” Should we help a disabled person waiting at Zebra Crossing ” I said NO.

It would be very inhumane to say NO, why wouldn’t anybody help. We would all want to help this person so that he/she can reach the destination. Remember, most of the persons with disabilities have learned to live in society. Yes, there would be a greater level of difficulty, some more time but they do it. They are high on self-respect, it would not be right to just jump in and help without asking them.

There are greater things you can do. If you look around a lot of locations , buildings , institutions and common areas are inaccessible. FREE accessibility information apps like myUDAAN provides information on accessibility. All you need to do is just add couple of images of the location and mark as accessible/ inaccessible.

  • CORONA IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO EVERYONE

CORONA IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO EVERYONE But REMEMBER THIS:

In the US a prisoner was sentenced to death, some scientists thought that they should do an experiment on this prisoner. The prisoner was told that he will be killed by the bite of a poisonous cobra instead of hanging:

A cobra was brought in front of him, they closed the prisoner’s eyes and tied him to a chair.  He was pricked with two safety pins simultaneously, and the prisoner_ died within a few minutes. (The cobra was only brought before him – it did not touch him) A post-mortem revealed that the prisoner’s body contained venom resembling snake venom. Now where did this poison come from, or what caused the death of the prisoner?

THE POISON WAS PRODUCED BY HIS OWN BODY DUE TO HIS MENTAL TRAUMA!

Every decision you make produces positive or negative energy and accordingly your body produces hormones. The root cause of 90% of illnesses is the energy generated by negative thoughts. Today man is burning himself with his wrong thoughts his unforgiving nature and destroying himself. Don’t go over Corona statistics because more than 90% of the people are well, and the deaths occurred are not just due to the Corona disease, they had other illnesses, hence could not cope.

    Vitally Important ?

Remember that as YET, no one has died at HOME due to Corona. All patients who have died were ONLY in hospitals. The reason being the atmosphere in the hospital and the fear in the mind. Remember ALL those even infected by Corona who entered the hospital with a POSITIVE ATTITUDE have come out CURED.  So ALWAYS KEEP YOUR THOUGHTS
